40 Questions About My Beauty Routines & Preferences

I found these questions on Polished and Inspired’s Blog (originally from Lipstick on the Lake) and was inspired to do these questions on my blog! SKIN CARE

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?

Generally twice, once in the morning and once at night. Sometimes I forget, though 😛

2. What skin type do you have?

Normal/dry to dry.

3. What is your current face wash?

Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser.

4. Do you exfoliate?

Probably about twice weekly or when I need to. If I see any dry patches I will do a quick scrub and then moisturize before putting on makeup.

5. What brand do you use?

Many different brands! I use Ayres for my exfoliator, Aveeno, L’Oreal, or Garnier for face wash, Jergens for moisturizer…mostly drugstore brands because they’re easy to come by, but I use the occasional high-end product.

6. What moisturizer do you use?

Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. It is a miracle product for dry skin! It also tends to clear any occasional breakouts, too, surprisingly!

7. Do you have freckles?

Not many.

8. Do you use eye cream?

No, but I’d like to. I just haven’t had the chance to purchase any yet.

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

Not really. I’d get the occasional breakout, but nothing serious.

10. Did you ever have to use Proactive?

No, thankfully!

MAKEUP

11. What foundation do you use?

I use different foundations all the time. I tend to mix foundations, also, to get my desired coverage and color, but I like Covergirl + Olay’s Tone Rehab or Revlon ColorStay at the moment.

12. How about concealer?

Maybelline Master Conceal for blemishes and Essence Say No to Dark Circles for undereye.

13. Do you know your undertone color?

Cool-toned, for sure!

14. What do you think of false eyelashes?

I’ve actually never used them! On other people, though, they can look great if applied correctly.

15. Did you know that you’re supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

Yes, but I don’t always follow the rule 😛

16. What brand of mascara do you use?

Covergirl at the moment, but I own everything from L’Oreal to Smashbox.

17. Sephora or MAC?

Sephora all the way.

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-Card?

No.

19. What makeup tools do you use in make up application?

Brushes and sponges.

20. Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?

Of course! I’m using Wet ‘n Wild currently, it works really well, surprisingly!

21. For the face?

E.l.f., Maybelline, Smashbox, any primer I can get my hands on! I love Smashbox’s primer water.

22. What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

Champagne, brown, rose, and gray. Sorry, that’s a lot. I love all of them, though! Maybelline Color Tattoo Barely Branded and e.l.f. eyeshadows are great for budget options, and I’m dying to try the Naked palettes.

23. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?

Actually, I use kajal or kohl eyeliners occasionally but mostly use eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush.

24. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?

I get eyeshadow or mascara in my eyes more often than eyeliner!

25. What do you think of pigment eye shadows?

I haven’t really used them, they scare me – I feel like I’ll make a mess or get a too-dark shade!

26. Do you use mineral makeup?

Nope.

27. What is your favorite lipstick?

Essence ‘Come Naturally.’ Check out my review here!

28. How about lip gloss?

Hmm…I can’t pick a favorite, I like pretty much any lipgloss (hence my blog name) 😛

29. What is your favorite blush to use?

theBalm’s FratBoy! So gorgeous.

30. Do you buy your makeup on eBay?

Nope.

31. Do you like drugstore makeup?

Of course!

32. Do you go to CCO’s? (cosmetic company outlets)?

Not generally.

33. Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?

Yes, but I never have. I decided to read makeup books instead!

34. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I don’t think so.

35. Name a makeup crime that you hate?

Too-dark foundation. I hate the orange streak on the chin when it’s not blended in or is too dark.

36. Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

Mostly neutral, but I love a pop of color occasionally, especially on the lips.

37. Which celebrity always has great make up?

A.J. Cook, without a doubt. Her hair and makeup is always amazing. It’s natural, sophisticated, and beautiful!

38. If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would you use?

Mascara or concealer. Depending on the day 😛

39. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Yes! Though I prefer at least a little eyebrow color so that my eyebrows match my hair, which is colored.

40. Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?

I think I look like myself, which is a great feeling. 🙂
