Maybelline Color Molten Eyeshadow: Taupe Craze (301)

I love Maybelline, so I had to try one of the Color Molten eyeshadows when I saw them at the store. They have a nice selection of colors, but I bought one of the lighter shades, because I had no idea what to expect and didn’t want to end up looking like I had a black eye 😛 However, I found out that these eyeshadows aren’t extremely pigmented, so the darker shades should be wearable. Anyway, on to the review!

Color: The color duos come in a variety of shades, such as rose, navy, emerald, taupe, and gray.

Consistency: The consistency is a strange mix of powder and cream – though it has a bit of a powdery feeling to it, once you dab your finger in it, it turns into this creamy shadow that’s easy to apply. It really has all the best qualities of powder and cream shadow…powder is soft and smooth but tends to have fallout, and cream is easy to apply but can look cakey. This eyeshadow is smooth and easy to apply, but not thick or too powdery.

Summary: Both shades look great layered on each other or alone. If you bought a different color, however, I’m sure that the darker shade in the package would be great as a crease shadow. I would recommend this color if you like the natural look, but if you want a little more drama, go for one of the darker duos. They’re really easy to apply, you don’t need a brush, and the colors are great – they’d be perfect for a trip or when you need a quick makeup fix-up.  7 out of 10 stars. $7-$10 at department or drug stores.

Have you ever tried the Color Molten eyeshadows? If so, how did you like them? Let me know in the comments!
